New Wiklund NES Release Near Completion

Aaron and I just got a chance to preview the latest project featuring our good buddy Wiklund! Teaming up with Kreese and Zabutom, Wiklund will have featured tracks on an upcoming NES cartridge release. This collaborative effort between three creative minds will soon be available as a downloadable ROM file, with plans for a future hard-copy release in the form of an actual NES cartridge. The software is currently near completion and awaiting the final touches. When complete, you’ll be able to hear the sweet sounds of Wiklund, Kreese, and Zabutom, rolled into one NES-tastic program. MP3 versions of the tracks may also become available.

Presented by NW Folklife and sponsored in part by CrunchyCo.com, this year’s 8-Bit Showcase event in Seattle is sure to be a spectacular event to to say the least! On May 30th, Northwest locals Fighter X (Seattle) and Spamtron (Portland) will be joining international chiptune powerhouses USK (Japan) and Nordloef (Sweden).  The four of them will be taking over the stage in the EMP Skychurch as part of Seattle’s Folklife Festival, a FREE event held every year to celebrate fine art and music. If you witnessed the showcase event last year, you’ll remember how KGHB, Fighter X, Trash80, and Sabrepulse rocked the festival on the Vera stage. This year brings a fresh line-up and an even bigger venue. Don’t miss out on your chance to see this amazing collection of talent, hand picked from around the globe and placed right here in the heart of Seattle!

During their visit to the States, both USK and Nordloef will be making other appearances with locals around the area, so keep an eye out for other show details as the dates get closer.

Fighter X to Collab with Disko Warp?

Disko Warp specializes in producing a mix of eurobeat delights, some of which have even been featured in Dance Dance Revolution! Details are slim, but rumor has it that Disko will be recruiting various artists for some remix action, one of those being our very own Fighter X! Chiptune Smile.dk anyone? Now wouldn’t that be interesting?

Comic section being worked on!

I figured I’d let people know, comics are now being re-added to the site. If you enjoyed “What a Treat” and “Z-Spat”, then look forward to this section!
